บางอย่างนั้นถ้าน้องหมากินเข้าไปแล้วสามารถเป็นอันตรายถึงชีวิตได้

แอลกอฮอล์

ไตสุนัขไม่สามารถจัดการกับแอลกอฮอล์ได้อย่างมีประสิทธิภาพเหมือนกับของมนุษย์ ซึ่งอาจทำให้เกิดปัญหาจากโรคได้

กระเทียมและหัวหอม

หลายคนปรุงอาหารโดยใช้หัวหอมและกระเทียมเป็นส่วนผสมหลัก แต่สำหรับสุนัข ไม่ว่าปรุงสุกหรือดิบ ถ้ากินเข้าไป อาจทำลายเซลล์เม็ดเลือดแดงซึ่งส่งผลให้เกิดโรคโลหิตจางได้

ช็อกโกแลต

ช็อกโกแลตเป็นอาหารที่เป็นพิษร้ายแรงสำหรับสุนัข เนื่องจากมีทีโอโบรมีน ซึ่งเป็นสารกระตุ้นที่มีผลต่อระบบการเผาผลาญของสุนัข สุนัขอาจมีอาการปวดท้อง ปัญหาเกี่ยวกับหัวใจ ลมชัก หรือแม้แต่เสียชีวิต ทั้งนี้ ขึ้นอยู่กับปริมาณที่กินเข้าไป

นม ครีม และชีส

เมื่อสุนัขโตเต็มวัย ความสามารถในการย่อยผลิตภัณฑ์จากนมจะลดลงเพราะขาดเอนไซม์ในการย่อยอาหารชนิดนี้ ซึ่งหมายความว่าสุนัขอาจมีอาการเช่น อาเจียน อาการท้องเสีย และปวดท้องจากแพ้แลคโตส

องุ่นและลูกเกด

ผลไม้เหล่านี้ดีต่อสุขภาพสำหรับคน แต่เป็นอาหารที่เป็นพิษสำหรับสุนัขอย่างมากและอาจนำไปสู่ภาวะไตวายเฉียบพลัน

อีกหนึ่งความสามารถของสุนัข ที่คอยช่วยเหลือมนุษย์
คือการเป็นสุนัขนำทาง เรามารู้จัก 9 ข้อน่ารู้เกี่ยวกับเพื่อนซี้ ฮีโร่เรากันดีกว่า

1.ไม่ได้ถูกบังคับให้ทำงาน
สุนัขทุกตัวต้องผ่านการสอบจากโรงเรียน ซึ่งเป็นการทดสอบในส่วนทั้งความสามารถ และความตั้งใจ

2.แยกประเภทเสียงต่างๆได้ดี
สามารถรับรู้และแยกแยะเสียงเตือนภัยจากเสียงรบกวนได้

3.มีสิทธิตามกฎหมายของผู้พิการ
สามารถเข้าออกสถานที่ต่างๆไดเหมือนผู้พิการทางสายตาแม้ว่าสถานที่นั้นห้ามสัตว์เลี้ยงเข้า
*ทั้งนี้ในทางปฏิบัติในประเทศไทยยังถูกปฏิเสธจากบางสถานที่

4.สุนัขที่สามารถนำทางได้มีทั้งหมด 4พันธุ์
ได้แก่ Golden Retriever, Labrador Retriever, Border Collie, German Shepherd

5.พร้อมทำงาน 24 ชม.
แม้ว่าเราเห็นว่าเขานอนอยู่แต่เมื่อใดที่เขาใส่บังเหีย
เขาจะคอยระวังภัยให้เจ้าของ

6.ฝึกมาอย่างดี อึ-ฉี่ ไม่มีปัญหา
เขาจะถูกฝึกให้ขับถ่ายเป็นที่เป็นทางและเป็นเวลา
ไม่สร้างความวุ่นวาย

7.สุนัขนำทางไม่ใช่สัตว์เลี้ยง
เมื่อเราเห็นสุนัขนำทางนอกบ้านกำลังปฏิบัติหน้าที่ไม่ควรเข้าไปแหย่ หรือไปเล่นด้วยให้เสียสมาธิในการปฏิบัติหน้าที่

8.ควบคุมอารมณ์และความรู้สึกได้ดี
สุนัขนำทางจะไม่ไวต่อสิ่งเร้าหรือสถานการณ์ที่ทำให้ตื่นกลัว เขาจะนิ่งและมีสติกว่าสุนัขเลี้ยงทั่วไปเพื่อป้องปกเจ้านาย

9.นั่งคอยได้นานอย่างสงบ
สุนัขนำทางมักจะได้รับคำสั่งในรอคอยเจ้าของในการทำธุระต่างๆ ดังนั้นจะเชื่อฟังเป็นอย่างดีจะไม่ซุกซนหรือวิ่งเล่นในขณะปฏิบัติหน้าที่

Brighten Your Day with Happiness and Smiles with a Gang of Dogs at a “Dog Therapy” Event

“Dog Therapy” event from the annual pet event, “SmartHeart presents Thailand International Dog Show 2019”, where the Exhibition Project team brought various dogs to show talent and created a joyful occasion, lifting old women’s hearts from loneliness at Tiwanon elderly home. They also brought necessary supplies and donations for the elderly.

Build a better world

SmartHeart presents Thailand International Dog Show in the project for 1 Baht for our best friend to save animal away from famine problem. We donated dog food and rice for 1300 dogs and give them a better life at Royal Thai Navy, Sattahip, Chonburi Thailand.

Your support donation will help a better world and caring for thousands of dogs. Our 18th years project in “1 baht for our best friend” that funds raised from the collection at the SmartHeart presents Thailand International Dog Show and SmartHeart presents Thailand International Pet Variety Exhibition will support and care our four-legged friends which will help support many programs serving dog in our communities who need of tinned food, toys, treats, and anything that will enrich their stay.

Stray Dog Birth Control Program

As the organizer of SmartHeart presents Thailand International Dog Show, IMPACT worked in cooperation with VET4 Animal Hospital, University of Pennsylvania, SmartHeart and Me-O to arrange the Stray Dog Birth Control Program aiming to sterilize stray dogs in the IMPACT area. Led by Khun Tum Kunwadee, executive director of IMPACT, the activity took place at IMPACT’s Conference Room on 8 June 2017 from 09.00-17.00 hrs.

The objective of this program was to reduce the number of stray dogs by preventing more unwanted dogs being born in the area. As birth control injections can increase the risk of cancer in dogs, we’re confident that this sterilization project will be the best method to reduce dog population in the area.

IMPACT, as the organizer of Dog Show, wanted to show that we’ve taken the stray dog issue seriously and would like to express our sincere thanks to VET4 Animal Hospital, especially Dr. Araya, the vet team from University of Pennsylvania and IMPACT’s management team for their great support.
